TIPS TO
GUARANTEE PAYMENT
Sometimes
you come across slow payers, unfortunately.
Here are some ways to ensure faster payment.
1. Make
sure you call it an INVOICE not a STATEMENT.
2. Always submit your invoice on time.
3. Post a monthly rebilling charge if payment is
received after 30 days.
4. Think about using colored invoices which highlight
the important areas.
5. Include the date of service, line counts, and total
amount due.

WHAT’S
GOOD ABOUT WORKING FROM HOME?
I think
there are many advantages to working from home,
and I have to say, I would not like to go back to working
in an office again. I think working at home offers
freedom, flexibility, and more control of your own world.
You may work longer hours than you normally would when
you first start your business, but the pay-off is so
wonderful.
As a
medical transcriptionist, you determine your work
schedule. You can work mornings, afternoons, or evenings.
You can work 8-2, 7-11, or 7-5 if you wish. You can work
whenever you want to work.
You are
able to go shopping, go on school trips with the
kids, make time for friends, and get household chores done
while you work.
You get to
dress casual, if you want, - there is no dress
code. You can wear your hair how you like, and nobody
can complain! You can talk on the phone when you like and
you can take breaks when you like…
Does home-based sound good? As an MT, you will earn
more at home than you will outside as a transcriptionist,
most likely twice as much. So if you’ve been thinking
about it, take the plunge!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK
PECAN
BALLS
1 cup
butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup finely chopped pecans
Sifted powdered sugar
Preheat
oven to 350 degrees Farenheit. In a large
mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on
medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add granulated
sugar and salt; beat until combined. Beat in vanilla.
Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer.
Stir in any remaining flour. Stir in pecans. Shape slightly
rounded teaspoons of dough into balls. Place 1 inch apart on an
ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake about
12 minutes or just until bottoms start to
brown. Transfer to a wire rack; cool. Sprinkle with
powdered sugar. Makes about 72 cookies.

THE WEEK
This is
not really a joke, but a TRUE story…Enjoy!
An elderly
Florida lady did her shopping and, upon
returning to her car, found four men leaving with her
car. She dropped her shopping bags, drew her handgun
and screamed at the top of her voice, "I have a gun
and I know how to use it! Get out of the car, you
scum bags!"
The four men didn't wait for a second invitation.
They got out and ran like mad, whereupon the lady,
somewhat shaken, proceeded to load her shopping bags
into the back of the car and climb into the driver's
seat.
She was so shaken that she could not get her key into
the ignition. She tried and tried before it dawned
on her why it wouldn't fit. A few minutes later she
found her own car parked four or five spaces farther
down.
She then loaded her bags into her car and drove to
the police station. The sergeant to whom she told the
story nearly tore himself in two with laughter. He
pointed to the other end of the counter, where four
pale white males were reporting a car jacking by a
mad elderly woman described as white, less than 5'
tall, glasses, and curly white hair carrying a
large handgun. No charges were filed.
